Humanist typeface
Humanist is a classification given to a specific font type. Several classifications exist; Humanist, Old Style, Transitional, Modern, Slab Serif and Sans Serif.
Humanist types appeared during the 1460′s and 1470′s to make then the first moveable type ‘Blackletter (Block)’ type more legible.
Humanist fonts can be recognised as using slopping cross bars on the small ‘e’ character and a relatively small x-height.
